Hi AMP supporters,
We are excited to announce that the AMP platform is live! You can now visit http://www.ampyourimpact.com to browse our directory of sustainability resources. If you're a sustainability student, professional or social entrepreneur, please:
1. Create a profile
2. Rate and review existing resources
3. Add new resources to existing sub-categories
4. Participate in a forum thread, or start a new conversation!
A final thank you to every single one of you for your donations to our Indiegogo campaign, and for allowing us to move into this next chapter of our journey. While we still have a list of features that we'll integrate in the coming months, you helped us build a beta version of our product that we believe clearly demonstrates the problem/solution we're so passionate about. As a reminder, AMP's mission is to organize the best information and resources available within the ever-growing sustainability sector, and be the starting point for individuals interested in harnessing the power of business to drive social and environmental progress. Think Yelp, but for sustainability resources:)
Our vision is to become the largest peer-reviewed sustainability resource directory in the world, dramatically increasing efficiencies and reducing duplicated efforts at a time when solutions are desperately needed. Indeed, the challenges facing us are complex, but access to the most recent and relevant information is key, and a crowdsourcing model allows for limitless collaboration.
We've done a significant amount of testing prior to this release, but some bugs may still exist. Please email support(at)ampyourimpact(dot)com if you run into any problems that require our immediate attention. If you have higher-level strategic feedback, or would like to discuss potential growth opportunities, please email team(at)ampyourimpact(dot)com.
Again, thanks so much for following our progress and staying engaged. Now, go AMP it up! http://www.ampyourimpact.com
Note: For those of you who contributed at the "Creative Capitalist" level, we have your names on file and will add a "Founding Member" banner to your profile, once you've created one.
Hi AMP supporters,
We reached a major milestone this week with the kickoff of alpha testing! As noted in our last update, we've enlisted a handful of associates to take a sneak peak at the site, which is now functional but not yet public. They'll go through a task list and give us some much-needed outside perspective and road testing, to see how everything we've built works for them.
Based on their feedback, we'll do some fine-tuning before progressing to beta, where the site goes public in a "try-it-out" mode that gives us a broader range of user feedback. This is when all of you will be able to browse the site, create profiles and begin sharing resources! Estimated launch date is 8/15, and we will send out an update confirming! Thanks again for the continued support.
Hi AMP supporters – time for another update! All is going well, but development is taking slightly longer than we’d anticipated which means the beta version of our site will be live in July (not the previously estimated May/June timing).
We have a small group of alpha testers that have agreed to help us out by entering resources and making note of any bugs they encounter before we release the public version of the site, so we’ll be moving into that stage within the next two weeks. Once we’re live, we’ll provide another update so that all of our supporters know. Thanks for your patience and understanding – we want to make sure the user experience meets high quality standards. One final tidbit….
Recently I wrote an article for PandoDaily titled “Three and a half reasons to stop calling yourself a social entrepreneur” within which I explain the business model AMP will be testing at launch: http://bit.ly/16xekGl
We hope you’re all doing well, and having a good start to your week. Warmly,
Sarah & John
Hi AMP supporters!
It’s been a little while so we wanted to provide a status update. In January we completed our user personas and user flows, both of which ensure the site experience meets the various need-states of our targets (i.e., student, green team member, sustainability professional, social entrepreneur). We then moved into creating the wireframes, which map out all the different pages and basically act as instructions for the development team – really excited about how these ended up, and what we’re going to be able to deliver once the beta is live (est. May/June)!
We’re currently wrapping up the design phase (i.e., revised color scheme, fonts, logo, etc.) and moving into development, so will be in touch with more updates as we move forward. We couldn’t be happier with Pxl Bros and Magic Key as our design and development partners – both are demonstrating a great mix of creativity and strategic savvy.
For those interested in a lightweight read, I wrote an article that was published in PandoDaily titled, “Five and a half reasons why I still love Facebook” in which I mention AMP – certainly doesn’t hurt to increase awareness among a mainstream tech audience. http://bit.ly/VdYPLS
Hope everyone has a great weekend, and thanks again for helping us to get off the ground! More soon.
Happy Holidays AMP supporters! John and I want to update you on what’s been going on since our campaign wrapped. After a significant amount of outreach and vetting, we’re delighted to have found an excellent design partner in PXL Bros, and a development partner in Magic Key. Both are based in Los Angeles, allowing for in-person meetings since I’m based in Santa Monica. They have worked successfully together in the past on tech startups with similar functionality and are also really wonderful people who believe in AMP’s mission, which was important to us as we were screening potential candidates.
We’ve recently completed a lot of prep work to ensure the project starts off on the right foot, with wireframing set to begin in January and the beta version of the site going live this Spring. We’ll keep you posted as we hit major milestones, and we are likely going to solicit some feedback as we move forward.
Everyone that selected a $25 perk (i.e., thank you card with sustainably made sticker) or $50 perk (t-shirt made from recycled water bottles) should have received them by now. If you haven’t, please shoot an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. It was a humbling experience to write so many thank you cards and to be reminded of everyone that’s supporting our efforts. We feel very grateful this holiday season.
Lastly, AMP was mentioned in my latest article for GOOD, titled “Emerging Resources for Social Entrepreneurs,” should anyone want to have a read! http://bit.ly/QLFGB7
