"On the Edge" - one of my first short films
Having been raised in the Netherlands within an international environment to emigrated parents from Poland I have been exposed to different cultures from a very young age. I grew up speaking three languages: Polish with my parents, Dutch at school and English with my friends at my international school. Iterating between these languages, made me realize that communication is fundamental to bridging cultural differences and to be successful in an international environment. Besides my Communication and Media study I spend the majority of my time on filmmaking, which has become my passion.
In order to expand my knowledge in this field I applied, among others, for the Film Production course at Boston University. Attending those intense and inspiring weeks at Boston University only made my aspiration to become a film director grow stronger and made me realize that this form of creativity was my passion and this form of art is what I want to continue pursuing for the rest of my life.
My primary goal of this program is to learn from the best in the film industry. I would like to take advantage of the unique opportunity of a personal mentor to get his guidance and advice. Furthermore, I am looking forward to participating in The Roundtable Series, giving access to industry professionals’ experiences. I am confident that such creative environment will provide me with lots of inspiration for film making for my future career. Last but not least this program is a huge networking opportunity, which will help me to stay connected with the best in the film industry.
I believe this program will make a significant difference for my future career. It would equip me with sufficient knowledge about the industry, provide me with more hands-on experience in order to advance in this area and allow me to contribute to a positive influence in the industry and society.
