America's Most Unwanted, a film about foster youth. Free DVDs for foster homes

America's Most Unwanted, a film about foster youth's campaign for FREE DVDs to group homes!

THANK YOU FOR HELPING REACH OUR GOAL!! We are still accepting contributions for DVD purchase and distro online via our fiscal sponsor--click on their name below.

We set out goal at $7500 for this 1st round of 300 DVDs to be distributed but there are 500,000 foster youth in America--so we could definitely do a 2nd PRINTING of MORE DVDs if more funds arrive. After fees, taxes and paying that loan back we'll have $5k to start!

AMERICA'S MOST UNWANTED  a proud fiscally sponsored 501c3 of the Bay Area Video Coalition

FREE DVDs for Foster & Group Homes, Funding Campaign is the FINAL AND MOST IMPORTANT STEP for this project!

Now that we've finished production of the film, America's Most Unwanted, we need your help to pay for the DVD production and distribution costs so we can get copies into the foster and group homes for free!

Getting the film into foster and group homes for free is the most important part of our distribution goal.

But, we need YOU, our friends, family, fellow foster youth, supporters and fan base to help fund this educational film's DVD production and distribution because it is one of few films that focuses on youth in the system from their perspective.

TOGETHER, we can make THIS FINISHED DVD available for the youth that would benefit most from the project by paying for its production and distribution.

It took a year just to produce the DVD--and it is a work of art itself that includes SPANISH SUBTITLES and CLOSED CAPTIONING and EXCLUSIVE ADDITIONAL FOOTAGE from our QnA at our Town Hall Tour Premiere.

AMERICA'S MOST UNWANTED is a STORY OF HOPE & INSPIRATION by a former foster youth meant to inspire those living in the system today and those working with foster youth, but also to inform parents, teachers, and policy-makers about the foster care system and ideas for better outcomes for the youth.

So many of our lives our touched by foster care, even if we are not aware : "1/2 a million youth are currently in foster care in the USA" and in California, "70% of our inmates spent time in foster care" (Child Welfare League of America).

As someone who spent time in foster care myself, I was shocked that I knew nothing about the results from the system. I don't think I'm alone in this.

This is one part of our goal for AMERICA'S MOST UNWANTED that we could not do without your support!

IF ANY OF THE FOLLOWING STATEMENTS ARE TRUE YOU WILL WANT TO SUPPORT THIS PROJECT:

• 'You believe that anything is possible with tenacity, advocacy and hard work'

• 'You want to see more images of foster youth in our everyday lives and agree with us that more visibility will reduce negative stigma for foster youth'

• 'You believe in small social justice films that bring attention to big issues'

The project also represents foster youth achievement itself.  It is the MFA Thesis film for the director from San Francisco State University’s Cinema Program. (‘Only 2% of foster youth graduate from college’, US Census Data, 2010).
