Dear Precious Friends and Supporters
Our sincerest apologies for being late with an update, but this winter has been a long and cold one with many challenges. So happy its’ over. Today is the 1st of March, the sun is shining in London and we feel our energy returning to us.

We haven’t forgotten you. We have been hard at work with our designer, the lovely David and going back and forth on designs for all the beautiful perks coming your way very soon. We promise that these will ship out to you as soon as possible. We are ON IT!

For starters the digital postcard will be with you within the next week. We promise that once you see it, it will have been well worth the wait. We love it!

For those of you who will receive a t-shirt as part of their perks contribution do let us know within the next 7 days if you would like a medium or large t-shirt. If we don’t hear from you our default is to send you a medium size t-shirt.

Other exciting news we would like to share with you!!!
The British Film Institute, London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival (BFI LLGFF) are screening two events with Pratibha at this years’ festival.

Event One-Exclusive Preview: On the 29th March, in a feature programme at the National Film Theatre, Pratibha will show a few clips from ‘Alice Walker: Beauty In Truth’ (work in progress) http://www.bfi.org.uk/llgff/films/features/1632 and talk about the making of this film with festival programmer Nazmia Jamal.

Event Two: 28th March is the BFI’s LLGFF Special Anniversary Screening of Pratibha’s film, ‘A Place of Rage’. Premiering with this film are two new short documentaries– ‘Angela: An Icon’ * and *‘June Jordan: Wrong Is Not My Name’. http://www.bfi.org.uk/llgff/node/1673

Dear Friends,
A happy belated New Year to you all. We were so exhausted and elated at the end of the campaign that its taken a while to bounce back with some energy. First of all, just to reassure you all – we are working on the perks for all our donors. We had a very creative meeting with our designer who is doing coming up with some stunning designs for the T shirts, bags, beanies etc. More on this soon.

We were thrilled to be picked by IndieGoGo as their Documentary Film Project of 2011 because of the campaign we ran and the energy that was generated on social media sites with the blogs, tweets and Facebook activity. So a mega thanks to you all for making this happen.

We feel truly supported by a global community of like-minded kindred spirits. We are in deep gratitude for the love and generosity shown to this definitive, timely film on Alice Walker as well as to us in these last 3 months.

Beauty In Truth is being carried through to its completion with the most beautiful, positive energy generated by each and everyone of you.

Although the 3 month campaign has come to an end on IndieGoGo, we are continuing to outreach through our Beauty In Truth film website www.alicewalkerfilm.com

When we began our campaign we had mentioned that our shortfall was $150,000. This has been reduced to $94,900 thanks to our generous donors. We can now finish shooting our film and do a first run on the editing.

Lovely lovely people. The final countdown begins.
We are a week away from the end of our 3 month crowd funding campaign. It continues to be an outstanding experience – we urge you to read all the incredible comments left on the IndieGoGo Comments page . We are enjoying all the conversations we are having on Facebook, twitter and via email.

We are thrilled with what we have managed to raise so far with everyone’s support. Now as we move into the last 7 days of our campaign, we ask you to give us one more push out to your networks over the next week. We would love to get to 50% of our goal. We are almost there.

We are now in the last 10 days of our crowd funding campaign. NO, we haven’t yet achieved our goal but YES, we are open to miracles.

What an incredible journey its been so far. We are full of gratitude for all the incredible support, generosity and kindness you continue to give us. We now ask you to make one last push on our behalf and urge you to:

The brilliant news is the money raised so far will enable us to complete our shooting. Hurrah!! We would of course love to go on and edit the film but that will only be possible if we reach our goal.
