For a lot of people algae is seen as a nuisance especially if you're like me and have a saltwater fish tank, but there's a lot about algae people don't know.
There are many uses for algae. Food, bio-fuel, fertilizer and much much more. Not to mention algae in the ocean produces approximately 75% of the oxygen we breath.
Now there is a new way to utilize a certain types of algae. Maybe you have seen this "meme" circulating around Facebook or elsewhere on the internet.
The first time I saw this, I was fascinated and started doing some serious research about it.
Essentially these lamps suck up the CO2 in the air and converts into clean breathable oxygen, and algae it does it A LOT faster than trees at a much higher volume. The light inserted inside enables photosynthesis to keep the algae alive and growing along with the CO2.
To learn more about this type of lamp please watch this video.

This project will produce two different types of lamps.
One would be an algae lamp like the one in the video, but for personal home use.
The hope is to develop several other sizes as well for different uses around the house, and also market them to the business world. Such as offices, restaurants, and as well as local governments to use for parks, parking lots and many other uses. Reducing the carbon footprint we leave on this earth.
The second would be a lamp using bio-luminescent algae.
Bio-luminescent algae glows like this
It looks magical, but it is very real
Having either one of these lamps will be very beautiful and practical at the same time.
Not only will you be backing this project, but you will be at the ground floor of a very important "green" movement. So tell your friends, your family and share share share on whatever social network you use. It's our earth and the only one we have. Let's take care of it, and these lamps will certainly help.
Imagine the carbon footprint you will be reducing by owning and using one of these lamps. Talk about some serious carbon credits.
