 imagine leaving the country, your job, your family, to explore a new terrain. Imagine once you reached your destination you had eleven u.s. dollars to your name. You arrive on the pacific coast of Mexico, after 36 hours on busses. you lose your glasses, only to arrive in the most beautiful place you've even been able (sorta) to see. Welcome to Mazunte.

 
I found a little yoga school up the hill from the towns claim to fame, the museo de tortuga.  Here I lived, worked, sweated and mostly smiled my way through six months of bliss. During a raw food workshop I was hosting, we conjured up Adaptozens, little herbal balls of bliss.
 
Fast forward. Year and three quarters. I somehow have ended up purchasing a mountain farm with my fiance and rekindled the passion for a healthy and vibrant community.
 
Our kitchen has turned into a culinary alchemical madhouse. Using our knowledge of all sects of herbal medicine, along with our culinary mad genius, we've come up with these primitive raw chocolates that satisfy the gourmand, the weekend warrior and the vegan purist. That's pretty freakin' difficult.
 
We combine local herbs with hand selected raw ingredients. Elaborating on the spectrum of human experience, we selected thus far to explore the themes of Bliss, vitality, wiseness and peace.  Extracting from these palettes are the tastes, textures, and herbal alchemy that we meld together in the form of chocolate.
 
 

For us, creating these adaptogenic, nutrient dense

raw chocolates has become an art form that weaves

through the five senses, and nourishes us as well.

 

 Our long term goal with this enterprise is to produce all the herbs, the maca, the chia & the raw honey on our homestead, with the profits being recycled back to our farm to create a herbal sanctuary. We desire to cultivate ancient medicinals and ethnobotanicals, solving barriers to growing exotic & tropical plants and trees, in order to create a totally harmonious, local & exotic mix of beneficial and rare species by creating habitats and microclimates on our land.  
 
We hope to see our micro enterprise positively impact our local economy, support wellness and sustainability, and create more demand for our local agricultural community to grow herbal medicine. Our target demographic is everyone. Children, our elders, punks and hipsters can all enjoy our chocolate. We are transparent. We're not interested in profit gained by draining another's. Our philosophy in business is the same in life. give back to our community, respect all life, and try to leave the world a little better than when we arrived. And I think we are on the right path.

These aren't per-se, like anything you've ever experienced before. Up to fifty percent of these raw chocolates include adaptogenic herbs. These herbs have the amazing capability to give your body what it needs most.  In order for an herb to be classified as adaptogen, it must restore balance and strengthen the functioning of the body without throwing another organ or body system out of balance.

Adaptogens facilitate these changes by a wide range of actions rather than just by one specific action. Of equal importance to the herb’s active properties is its safety—an adaptogen must be nontoxic and non-habit forming, even when taken over a long period of time.

The main ingredient for our line of zenned out offerings is raw cacao. A truly amazing tree, Theobromus cacao is the only food that contains anandamide, the neurotransmitter responsible for the feeling of BLISS.  It also contains phenethylamine, the LOVE molecule, and a healthy dose of dopamine, that boosts motivation and pleasure.

We add a bit of locally produced raw honey and glow-encouraging raw coconut oil to make our base for the herbal chocolate confections.

           Now is the time to share them with the world.

There are so many other things going on at WildCraft Apothecary - our focus on this campaign is on bringing Adaptozen - Herbal Infused Raw Chocolates to local markets. If we receive more funding than our initial goal, our Herbal Lib(er)ations and Wild elixirs will be available that much sooner!  Now that wouldn't that be fun? We've concocted Zoom superfood bumps, Electric, an Herbal Electrolyte Elixir, Ambrosia, a superfood infused honey, Rawtella, an addictive vegan nutella, Illumination, a skinfood Herbal Lib(er)ation, and much more! Maca Macaroons, Raw Almond Butter Cups...We hope to roll these out as well but let's stay focused on what we need to get these treats to the people!

What We Need & What You Get

We need a few things to become a sustainable business and still keep our philosophies in check. We're applying this money to logging hours at our community commercial kitchen...which happens to be right down the road from our farm.  Quite a perk! There we will handcraft our delectable creations, all organic, all the time, of course.

We will also be using your contributions for applying for an LLC license & for crafting a wonderful website.

We need to procure quantities of sustainable packaging (glass and compostable vegetable plastics) All of the design work and labels have been created by Eva. Now we just need them printed.

We need to source quality sustainable ingredients in bulk for our first wholesale order.
