About the Artist
My name is Astrid Lydia Johannsen and I've wanted to draw comics since I was old enough to take a purple marker to my mother's rocking chair. When I'm is not drawing comics, I can be found either riding my bicycle or practicing belly dance.
About the Comic
Absolutely True Tales of Lesbian Drama is a queer urban fantasy in an alternate history. Set in the Silk Road city of Isifni, it's the story of four flatmates who wind up finding themselves out of their element. The comic has been ongoing since 2 January 2010, updating more-or-less weekly. It can be found online at lesbiandrama.com.
About the Campaign
I'm seeking to publish volume one of my webcomic, collecting 91 comics into a paperback tome. This book will also include director's commentary, art and sketches, and rare related works which are no longer available online. I'm striving to get this book printed in time for the Alternative Press Expo in October 2012. If my fundraising campaign succeeds, the money that I raise here will go to print a small run of 100 copies, one of which could end up in your very hands. Any more money that I receive will go to print additional copies of the book which I will have available to purchase both at APE and online at my comic site.
