A Celebration of J.P. Patches
McCaw Hall was a fabulous location for the public event honoring the life and legacy of J.P. Patches/Chris Wedes. While the rental of the hall was free, the LABOR COSTS were not. We got some great support in advance and day-of, but now we have a bill to pay!
What We Need
The rental of McCaw Hall was free; total cost of services at McCaw Hall was $8,592.84
The Northwest Chapter of NATAS (the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences--the Emmy folks) generously kicked in $2,000, so that brings us down to owing $6,592.84.
With help from Seattle Children's Hospital, we collected $4,650.10 at the door on Saturday from generous Patches Pals. Per Seattle Children's event affiliation policies, we received 1/3 of the donations for event costs, or $1,550.03. This brings us down to owing $5,042.81. (The other 2/3 went to the wonderful folks at Children's Hospital--J.P./Chris' favorite charity)
KIRO TV needed access to the building on Friday for set-up, which cost $744 (and which KIRO TV will pay).
This brings us down to needing to raise $4,298.81 to pay the final bill to McCaw Hall. Throw in the IndieGoGo processing fees (7%), and
The total we need to raise to pay for the J.P. event is:
The event on Saturday, September 8 was incredible. Every speaker, every participant, every person behind-the-scenes (the "Patches Action Team") did an amazing job, if we do say so ourselves!
We think J.P. would have been proud of this all-volunteer team! We were certainly honored to be able to help out.
If you haven't yet seen the video of "A Celebration of J.P. Patches," it's all online here: http://www.kirotv.com/s/entertainment/jppatches/
You can do your part, and join in the Patches Action Team by contributing any amount you can today!
We need to raise it all by TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25--the 31st anniversary of the very last episode of The J.P. Patches Show, which ended its run back in 1981.
How You Can Help
The event was great, now we need help to pay for it! Any contribution you can make will go directly to paying expenses owed to McCaw Hall--anything raised over our goal will go to Seattle Children's Hospital. Thank you for your time and consideration!
