500 Kindnesses is a documentary about the amazing 3,000 kilometer journey that Todd O'Reilly and his 14 year old son Daegan will be taking from their home in Toronto, Canada to the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. This unique film will discuss their journey and discover how simple acts of kindness are the most powerful tool we have for a better tomorrow. Todd and Daegan’s journey is not about raising money, but rather about encouraging people to pledge random acts of kindnesses to make the world a better place.  Additionally, the film will discuss how significant acts of kindness can lead to important social change.

The Story

500 Kindnesses will follow Todd and Daegan’s story as they travel 3,000 kilometers across North America in search for the goodness in us all.  The film will also feature interviews with experts and academics in the fields of history, politics and philanthropy.  Additionally, the film will include mini-features that focus in on the good work that people are doing in the communities that Todd and Daegan visit. 500 Kindness will boldly proclaim that kindness is as important today as it has ever been and needs to be harvested by us all.

Where is the Project Right now?

In the summer of 2012, Todd and Daegan completed a massively successful 1500-kilometer tandem bicycle journey from Toronto, Ontario, what some believe to be the coldest and most selfish city in Canada to New York City, a city that shares this reputation in the US.  In that campaign, 500 people pledged to do a kind deed for the betterment of others and 2013’s campaign aims to be even more successful.
