Hey! A week later and I’m still bald and you haven’t gotten your perk—what gives?
Well, in reverse order, things have been a little crazy, and I’ve been playing catchup. We’re waiting on a couple of the digital items still, so they can be bundled up in neat packages; hopefully, I’ll have everything in hand by the end of this week and can start fulfillment on digital items next week. (If you ordered a WriteGirl poem or the TextExpander perk, it will be coming from WriteGirl or Smile. But they are VERY organized and on top of it, and many of these have already gone out.)
If you ordered a personalized item, I’ll be sending you a very brief questionnaire soon to work out some critical details. Again, expect those to go out (fingers crossed) next week.
As to the hair, well, I shaved it again last night! Turns out I like it this way for now. Crazy, but there you have it.
Thank you for your patience, and for your commitment to this campaign. WriteGirl is gearing up for their 11th season largely because of you. This is real, people! We made stuff happen!
Okay. I’m off to do a nice panel at the Apple Store in Santa Monica on using IndieGoGo. Which is something I definitely know more about now than I did a couple of months ago.
Enjoy the video, if that’s your thing, and more soon.
Did I thank you recently? THANK YOU!!!!

Post-50-for50 Update! Perks, etc.
Hey! I did a little video full of answers to what are turning out to be FAQs. If you’re not a video person, I also wrote them up on my blog.
Most important/pressing: if you BOUGHT a ticket but have NOT received an invitation, please email me ASAP: colleen AT communicatrix DOT com.
As of now, all the invites for ticket purchases have gone out. So if we overlooked you, please, let us know. All the invitations are coming via Pingg.
And if you haven’t bought a ticket but want to, there are some left, owing to my overly conservative upfront estimations, cancellations, and the like.
Thank you! And we’re at $56,900! Which is INCREDIBLE!

Day 47! FAQs Edition
Apologies for my massively lame-beyond-belief, behind-schedule posting.
SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED.
First, we did it! For anyone who hasn’t heard, we hit (and then surpassed) our goal at 8:10pm on Saturday, September 3. On my friend (and 50-for-50 supporter) Alissa Walker’s birthday, for some extra-good juju.
Second, there are a slew of new interviews up on the 50-for-50 blog, including one from the world-famous (but totally anonymous) ""Dear Sugar" of The Rumpus":http://50for50.us/2011/09/08/sugar/.
Finally, a number of head-shaving party tickets have been re-released! Turns out a few people couldn’t make it after all, and a few more were just confused about perk selection (which, hey, I’ve been stumped a couple of times myself). Anyway, please do grab one if you’re inclined, or tell your friends who were bummed out because they were all gone before.
Okay. More as I have it.
In the meantime, thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This is the most amazing group party I’ve ever been party to, and I ain’t talking about the head-shaving!

50-for-50 PARTY TIME!!!!
I received some sad, angry-making news today from a good friend of mine who is a high-profile woman blogger. I won’t get into it here—you can follow the links in this post on my own blog if you want to read more—but I did want to say this:
If you think the world is fair and equal, it’s not.
If you think girls get a level playing field, they don’t.
If you think that growing up in a media-saturated culture doesn’t send out some really whacked messages to young girls, you’re wrong.
I know that as a contributor to this campaign, you’re aware of this. But so am I, and still, sometimes it takes something horrific like hate language and death threats to reawaken me to the sad truth I’d often prefer to ignore.
I promise that I’m not going to stay in the doom and gloom of one really sad/bad/mad-making piece of news. But there’s no way I was going to turn away and not mention it, either.
Every dollar you give is making the world less of a place where this #$@! can happen.
Believe it.

Day 35 of 50-for-50!
Massive heat wave here slowing me down ever-so-slightly, but THANKS TO YOU, contributions still rolling in. Even in these last, nasty, sticky days of summer. You are awesome, as is your tweeting, commenting, liking, emailing and other kinds of promoting.
BTW, because I yam a bit slow, I have not remembered to post every one of these videos I’ve been doing over here on IndieGoGo. But if you’re one of those nutty types who loves looking at webcam videos, well, by all means, go check out the backlog.
More soon! More! And soon! And thanks!

Day 34! So close, yet so much hair to go!
