The Firebird Festival is an annual celebration of arts and culture that is held in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.
This year, the festival will take place on December 14th, 2013 at Friendship Field.
The Firebird Festival mission is to provide an annual celebration of the borough of Phoenixville's namesake - the Phoenix. Just as the Phoenix rose from its own ashes, the town of Phoenixville has risen, and continues to rebuild and improve the local community, after the loss of its principle industry in the early 1980's.
The festival is designed to foster a collaboration of local artistic and creative talent, and to enhance the overall cultural life of Phoenixville.
The Firebird Festival brought an estimated 16,000 people into downtown Phoenixville in 2012. Entering its 10th year in 2013, there are many unique elements of the festival that are being planned to honor a decade of celebrating the Phoenix.
100+ performers, an expansive craft vendor area, and gourmet food trucks and vendors from the Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs will be on site at Friendship Field, which is the host site for the festival.
There will also be a parade from downtown Phoenixville, leading its way up to Friendship Field. The community is encouraged to join in the parade, which will feature paper lanterns, peace birds, puppets, dancers, drummers and more. Shuttle bus transportation will also be available to Friendship Field.
