Prelim budgeting:

As the computers that I used to make "We are the Strange" are rattling and dying a slow death... not to mention they are underpowered for the task that lies ahead of me.... I need to buy some new systems...

This is what it takes to make a 3d animated feature film in a reasonable amount of time... these are systems that I would build...

Workstation:
Intel Q9300 Quadcore
8 gb RAM
8800 gt gfx card
150gb 10,000 rpm boot drive
1tb 7200 rpm media drive
2 x 24" LCD monitors
Mouse + accessories

Render Farm (4 machines):
Intel Q6600 Quadcore OC'd
8 gb RAM
KVM + Gigabit switch etc

$4000.00

Other equipment:
Canon 450d DSLR
Canon HV20 Camcorder
Lights + other

$2000.00

With another $1500.00 set aside for replacement parts and additional hard drives etc... it seems a $10,000 budget would be sufficient to purchase all the equipment required to make the film.

So as it stands right now I will be looking at a budget of $10,000.00

Hey I really liked we are the strange and was wondering what I would need to do to get my voice into hsm?
I learned about your work through fhta and it looks truly badass. Good luck with the samurai.
I would donate some money for your budget, as I see you need a lot, but I spent the last of my money buying your dvd, oh wait! I guess I did help you. hah! thnx for packing so much into the wats dvd, It's kept me entertained for days, especially the musical past segment. :D
