TL;DR
- We make great Parkour films
- We want to make more, around the world
- This is a community-focused project
- Please help us make this happen
Who are we?
-
Scott Bass – Scott is also known as
Ampisound and Traceur Elements His Parkour films have over 6 million
views on YouTube and have been screened on TV worldwide.
-
Stephen Follows – Stephen has created and
managed a number of Parkour projects including Parkour Journeys, FreerunningTV,
Parkour Tour and Parkour.com. Stephen is an award-winning writer and producer in the
film industry and his company, Catsnake, is based in Ealing Studios.
-
Frankie Shrieves – Frankie is a traceur, a parkour coach and has been
contributing to Parkour.com for over a year.
What we’re proposing
We want to send Scott and a traceur/freerunner to various
cities around the world to showcase Parkour communities. In each city Scott will stay with the community,
film them and explore their city together.
Then we’ll release these films on YouTube for everyone to share and
enjoy.
When will this start happening?
ASAP! The first city will be Madrid and we be filming in February. We'll provide updates and news right here and on our Facebook page.

previous work
Why we don’t want traditional
sponsorship
We want more control to give the community what they want to
watch, not what a sponsor wants to give.
Our previous sponsor was great and didn’t censor or change our final
films but we did have to make some compromises.
By freeing ourselves from one large corporate sponsor we will be able to
make the films that the community want and which best reflect the places we visit.
How the money will be
used
The money will allow us to get the project going, to visit
the first few cities, make the first batch of films and establish our website.
Once we up and running we plan
to make limited edition t-shirts from each city. They will be designed by designers in the
featured city and will only be on sale for a month or so after the films are released. The new t-shirt designs will be worn by the
traceurs in the films.
We hope that this funding model works for everyone – it means
all our films are free to watch on YouTube and yet we still have a revenue
source with which to fund future cities.
We like this because…
- No sponsor telling us what to do, where to go or what to
film – just the community.
- People can buy our t-shirts if they want to be a part of the
project
- No-one has to pay anything to watch our films if they don’t
want to.
We think this model is the best way of making sustainable
films for the community, by the community and showcasing the community. But it’s going to take a lot of work from us
and a little bit of support from people like you.
What people said about our last tour
Visit www.facebook.com/parkourtour?sk=app_4949752878 to read 40+ stories of how the 2010 tour moved our audience. Here are a few examples...
-
"The tour epitomised all that was good about the global parkour community. It showcased how possible it is to travel to numerous locations around a continent and instantly be accepted as a traceur and as a family member to this movement. The service this tour has done for the community as a whole in that regard is beyond value!" Richard Ferreday
-
"The Tour has inspired me to actually commit alot of my life into Freerunning. I live in Canada where you can Freerun 2 months out of the year, but I still continue to think like a freerunner no matter what the landscape. I'm new to it, but I love Freerunning. It's all I really care about." Jordan Casey Richards
-
"This tour is fantastic. i found myself watching all of the videos over and over. it was great to see all of the different area around europe and the traceurs that practice there." Alex Smith
-
"All these videos are amazing and these videos have really inspired me because now i want to do exactaly what danny done here and travel to meet new free runners/parkour practitioners and see what there style of movement is and how different it is to mine and to also bring that back to my home city (Liverpool UK) and share it!" Luke Reece
-
"Parkour tour is really amazing and inspiring. I like all of your video, espcially The part that showing the parkour community in a certain country. It clearly shows that each country has their unique movement and how they describe parkour in the real life, but what makes it more unique is that all of that countries have a same root which is the movement it self." Adrizda Ryand Marcel Marantika
-
"The whole tour was inspiering, i think more people should watch and learn about the tour and parkour because there are some people i know who cant be assed to do parkour and that is realy annoying because they dont see what the best thing a...bout parkour is (meeting new people and making friends for life and the pure amazing feeling when you do parkour when you learn new things and are able to do stuff you would never think you could do). I think the best video in the tour was either paris or the one when you david belle, sebastien foucan and the rest of the guys meet. I do training on a daily bases but i would love to travel and go to different countries and meet new people it would be a dream come true. :D" Morgan John Echelon Wells
