It's Time to Level Up!
We have been supporting the community for 3 years and now the okcCoCo is ready to go to the next level.
We cannot do it without YOU.
We are moving to a new space in Midtown and need your support to renovate the new location.
The new okcCoCo will include many more offices, more coworking space, more social/event space, a gym, bicycle storage, coffee/sandwich shop, outdoor seating, and much more parking.
This is only a one week fund drive. Please select a support level and pledge now.
Any donation amount will be accepted, not just the amounts for the perks listed to the side. If we don't meet our fund raising goal this week, the okcCoCo will close in March.
A New Coworking Facility
The new facility will be in will more than double the current amount of offices,
so if you have been waiting for a chance to grab an
okcCoCo offices, now is your chance!
We have plans to open a public 24 hour coffee and sandwich shop. This will not only be a place to get your caffeinated drinks, but also snacks and food items with healthy vegetarian options. There will be a wifi-enabled coworking friendly lounge area, where the public will be encouraged to co-work, mingle, and relax around the clock.
Other improvements will include a bicycle storage, an outdoor patio for co-working, a gym and showers for okcCoCo members, a shared room for public events such as movie screenings and art openings.
Renovations
We will need to spend approximately $25,000 in order to get the new facility to a place in which we can move in.
This breaks down to:
-
New Flooring - $10,000
- Painting - $7,500
-
New updated Lighting - $2,500
-
Cleaning services - $2,500
- New Security System - $2,500

We are at a Crossroads
The three of us all work full-time jobs outside of the okcCoCo. We don't get a salary to run the CoCo and every dime extra gets put back into the okcCoCo. We do this because we genuinely love the community here and want to support it. This is how we've been able to allow many of the user groups to use our space for free, keep coworking prices low and operate at minimal costs.
However, we can no longer afford to stay at our current location, as much as we have grown to love the space. We have found a new location that has the potential to be amazing, but we need your help to get there. If we cannot raise the funds necessary to renovate the new building, we will be forced to close our doors in March.
This means:
- No more technology events
- No more events and support for entrepreneurs
- No more free meeting space for user groups
- No more free meeting space for non-profits
- No more professional coworking facilities
- No more professional network for job referrals
- No more awesome
Help us spread the word now
It would be hard to understate the value of personal referrals, recommendations, and positive reviews of the people who use and attend events at the okcCoCo. So please, share this page on facebook and on google+, tweet about it on twitter, and talk about it to everyone you think will be affected. Thank you if you have or will share our story.
What is the okcCoCo?
The
Oklahoma City Coworking Collaborative is focused on improving the
technical, creative and entrepreneurial opportunities, resources and
community in Oklahoma City. That
can mean a lot of things, but as we see it, it means more jobs, more
startup businesses, more events, more educational opportunities,
stronger community, more attention from local government to the valuable
contributions we make that help create a thriving, growing city and
economy.
Looking
back at the last three years, we have accomplished more than we ever
thought possible, thanks to the contributions of the community. We have
built a coworking facility where dozens of people work daily and we have
helped to promote and foster over 150 startup businesses. We have
hosted well over 300 professional and user group meetings.
We
have launched new events including BarCamp, Red Dirt RubyConf, Gov20a,
Code4aCause, Throw Your Voice, MobileBeta, Red Dirt Javascript. We’ve
partnered with organizations like the Greater Oklahoma Chamber of
Commerce and i2E to host events focused on entrepreneurship such as
OpenBeta, Global entrepreneurship week, and Startup weekend and to help
our companies participate in other events such as SXSW, The
Entrepreneurs Conference, and Innotech.
We
rely heavily on the time and effort people put into creating and
running community events that we host at the okcCoCo. We’ve had over
twenty professional groups meet monthly here at the okcCoCo since our
launch. We’ve hosted dozens of community events. The passion and work of
well over 150 members and non-members alike went into making these
events come to life. If you are interested in creating an event,
building a community or simply sharing your passions with others, we
welcome you to come talk to us about how we can help you build something
new and awesome.
