Hi, everyone!
For those of you who dont know me, my name is Natalie Brown and I am a Canadian-born recording artist / songwriter with 3 previous albums (Let The Candle Burn, A Cool Christmas, and Random Thoughts) and a decades worth of music industry experience under my belt. In addition to internet/satellite radio and podcasts, many of my songs can also be heard in films and TV programs around the world.
Im working on an exciting new project that Im raising money for via a combination of pre-sales and crowd-funding. The project is to produce a documentary live show DVD, and a Limited Edition autographed CD entitled The Relationship Odyssey. Those of you who have been following my vlogs will have gotten some tasty sneak-peek tidbits of the new songs that weve been recording. The Limited Edition CD will include FIVE songs that will not be made available anywhere else. This campaign to raise $20,000 via crowd funding will run for 2 months (until October 1, 2010).
Id love to have your support and in return provide you with some terrific recordings and a great live show DVD. Youre encouraged to tell as many people about this as you can so that the goal can be reached by the deadline. The production of the live concert DVD consumes of the overall budget. If we dont meet the funding goal then the DVD will be cut out of the project and only the Limited Edition Autographed CD will be produced. If we raise more than the $5,000 allotted to the CD production, but less than the full $20,000 required for the DVD production, then we will use the funds to increase the manufacturing run and possibly create more elaborate artwork.
I realize a lot of people are struggling and there might be a little something that doesnt feel right about somebody struggling giving money to somebody else to produce art. But what I really work hard at is giving you something meaningful in exchange for the support. For example, when somebody emails and says Its A Beautiful Day lifts my spirits, or In My Dreams carries me through the pain of losing a loved one, or I Wonder speaks to me about life and so on it illustrates how deep the exchange can be. I really work hard to make sure that the songs Im writing and singing mean something to people in order for them to feel like the money spent is justified.
Im really excited about this project, so let the fun begin! Yaaayyyyy :) Ill keep you all posted throughout the process so that you know whats going on.
