// Introduction
Boston University's Mustard Seed presents a charity benefit concert dedicated to raising funds for Charity: Water, a non-profit organization specializing in bringing clean water solutions to developing countries. With the help of a variety of BU student performing groups and NBC's The Sing-Off winners, Committed, funds generated from ticket sales and donations taken at the concert will be forwarded to Charity: Water to advance their campaign.
We've decided to team up with Charity: Water for this event. They're a fledgling organization, just 5 years old, but they've already shown that they can make a big impact. So far they've funded 4200+ water projects and raised $40 million dollars for their cause. They are an incredibly transparent group - they really let you know where they've been, what they've done, and where your money is really going. It's clear to us that they're not an ordinary charity, and we are more than excited to be contributing to their vision.
"Almost a billion people on the planet dont have access to clean drinking water. Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. We're working to change that" --Charity: Water

If you've seen The Sing-Off on NBC, you know the kind of group it takes to get to the top. You need musical talent, an entertaining performance, perseverance, and consistency. Committed, The Sing-Off's Season 2 (2010) winners have all of this and more. Six young men from Huntsville, Alabama started singing in their local church, and were able to bring their talent to the big screen.
As another Christian A Cappella group, we as Mustard Seed look up to Committed for their musical quality and continued faith throughout the show and their recent success. It's easy to see their passion and joy in what they do even through the TV...imagine how they would sound in person! Mustard Seed is ecstatic to be able to sing alongside such talented individuals, and we're determined to make this happen - but not without your help!

Enough about them, what about us right? Founded in 1996, Mustard Seed is BU's Christian A Cappella group, dedicated to encouraging BU and its surrounding community through our music, testimony, and service. This charity event will be allowing us to do all three through our own performance there and our partnership with Charity: Water. Not only will we be able to put on an entertaining show for our audience, but their contributions will be going to a great cause as well.

We need your help. It takes more than a vision to bring an event like this into completion. Mostly money. In order to pull this off, we need to rent the venue, pay the performers, get the equipment, and market our event. Here's a brief overview of what your contributions could be going towards:
Venue Costs (stage, security, sound setup, etc.): $3500
Committed Costs (airfare, room/board, stipend): $12500
Marketing Costs: $500
These are relatively conservative estimates, but just to be safe, we're trying to allot a total of $17000 for this event. We've set our limit on this site for $3750 because that is our most urgent deadline which is the down payment we need to lock in Committed. We're not going to be able to do this alone, and so we're humbly asking for your monetary contribution to help make this happen. If you'll see the right side-bar, we've also included some perks for especially generous contributors! Please consider supporting our event, and know that it will be going directly to a good cause - any and all contributions will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time,
- BU Mustard Seed
