About Me

Murphy Gilson was born in Muncie, Indiana. That's funny, right? "Muncie"?

Gilson has won two Emmys, a New York Film Festival Award, a handful of Promax Awards for Funniest Promo, and a dozen or so other pieces of shiny hardware including one he got from that crane machine at the County Fair.

His film "Partially True Tales of High Adventure!" starring Johnny Sneed & Shannon Elizabeth toured the film festival circuit for nearly three years, playing in 50 festivals in the US, Australia, Europe and Asia. It was even translated into Russian for screenings in St. Petersburg.

He's done work on several feature film projects including an adaptation of Dan Wakefield's novel "Under the Apple Tree".

Currently, he writes and produces on-air advertising campaigns & trailers for the FOX Television Network, credits include "American Idol", "House" and "So You Think You Can Dance".  He lives in Culver City, California with his wife, Yoga Booty Ballet creator Teigh McDonough and their two children.
