Our Project
Paula Peril: Midnight Whistle is the fourth live action movie adapted from the graphic novel series The Adventures of Paula Peril, published by Atlantis Studios. It features the exploits of a courageous and sexy investigative reporter fighting to expose crime in a corrupt city of criminals!
The film series is a labor of love for all involved: a low-budget, independent series developed for the comic book fan market. It is scheduled to begin shooting in June 2011, and currently has a modest production budget. However, it needs additional funds to achieve the ambitious goals of the screenplay. The entire film will be filmed during ten days of primary photography in the Atlanta area.
When Atlantis Studios produced its first live action movie, Trapped in the Flames (2007), it gained an international following, due largely to the casting of the stunning Valerie Perez (Universal Dead) in the title role. Two subsequent films, Mystery of the Crystal Falcon (2009) and The Invisible Evil (2010) each built on the previous films' success, and grew the international popularity of its cast of characters. Why We Can't Do It Alone
Midnight Whistle is the most ambitious Paula Peril film we've planned so far. its screenplay is over 30 pages long, nearly the length of an hour long television "pilot". The film has three extraordinary action-peril sequences, requiring elaborate stunt work and special effects. Each scene is more ambitious than anything we've filmed before. If fully funded, this will be the Paula Peril that will knock your socks off!
Second, it is a showcase for incredible up-and-coming acting that are already attached to the project: Marla Malcom (Blood Car, 2001 Maniacs), Matt Perello (Vampire Diaries), Perry Poston, and Greg Haney, are all committed to reprise their roles from the previous films. Additional actors from Atlanta and Los Angeles will be featured as character actors in the film.

How the Money Will be Spent
Atlantis Studios is currently producing this film with a modest budget of around $8,000, paid for with operating funds from its sale of Paula Peril comics and movies. These funds are sufficient for procuring locations, basic production materials such as props and costumes, and a small cast and crew, who are all donating their time. If the Indiegogo funding fails, production will still continue, with its current modest budget.
With an additional $15,000, however, the producers feel they will be able to add Hollywood-level "production value" to the film: a) better camera and lighting equipment, b) construction of more elaborate sets, c) more elaborate costumes, hair, and makeup, and d) special effects, including propos, stuntwork, and pyrotechnics. Paula's perils will be sexier and more exciting than ever.
We want every contriibutor to receive a reward for participating in the film. For a contribution as little as $15, fans can receive autographed photos, DVDs, original art - or even dinner with the beautiful stars of the film!
