Hi, I'm Q. Marie Patton, I'm a writer and artist, and an advocate for making literacy interesting. I self-published my collection, of urban cultural African-American stories, two years ago. I was born and raised, in Oakland, California, in the 1960s' and 70s'. The fiction is inspired by my, childhood there. My book Tales & Myths of the Inntercity, needs editing and marketing. The funds I raise here will help me smooth out and market my book, to a whole new group of readers. I want to reach out especially, to adults learning to reading and college cultural studies freshmen. I want to promote group reading as not only a way to promote literacy, but also to entertain and meet friends. I hope book clubs, will get into it. I hope to video tape some of the readings, and make them available to the general public.

I am also an artist, I have made artist-clay sculptures of my characters. Some of them are rewards, "Perks", for those who support me at a certain level, read the perks list.
