Maeve Marsden

Artistic Director

About Me

I wear lots of hats (metaphorical ones, obviously - I actually look terrible in real hats).

I'm the Artistic Director of blackcat productions, producing emerging women and queer talent in cabaret, with my partner in crime, Phoebe Meredith (General Manager). Our project, cabaret troupe Lady Sings it Better have been playing to sell out crowds in Sydney and Adelaide, and are now preparing to tour to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. We also produce HOMAGE, cabaret tribute nights to GLBTQ musicians past and present, and we've worked on events with a number of artists including musical collective, ali & the thieves, and gorgeous gay songbird, Brett Every. We are Edinburgh-bound in 2012, launching ourselves onto an international stage with one big, bold, fringe adventure!

By day, I write for awareness campaign and recruitment project, carecareers, and I am a volunteer Board Director for The Aurora Group, producing large scale fundraising events for the NSW GLBTQI community. I also play soccer...and cook...and socialise. Sometimes I sleep.
