Lynda is an artist that has committed herself to helping the children of Austin, Texas. She worked for the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department for 7 years. While working there, she worked with the After School Program, Non-Traditional Teen Program, and the Teen Totally Cool, Totally Art Program.
She has now moved on to work with youth in our criminal system. Her continued service to our community has transformed the lives of many of our children. As an artist, she expresses her love, concern and feelings for our youth. She also expresses her faith, and love for people in her work.
Lynda is blessed by being able to do community projects with the youth, such as her annual Art & Poetry for the Heart from the Soul, Exhibit & Networking Conference, and her Art from the Heart Work Shops; with youth ages 4-16. Lynda is also a Mentor/Youth Advocate to at risk youth ages 8-17.
Lynda has been exhibiting her artwork in the community from 1988 until the present. The exhibits have consisted of art shows, conferences, festivals, murals, and displays in businesses, churches, libraries, recreation centers, schools, and silent auctions. Her annual Art, Poetry & Networking Conference will take place Saturday, November 6, 2010.
