Jason Gray has been based in Japan for 10 years and works in the film industry as a journalist, consultant and professional translator for Japanese movies and film festivals.
He is the Japan correspondent for global film industry journal Screen International and has written on cinema for publications and websites including The Japan Times, CNNGo and Midnight Eye.
Among his translation and consultation clients are Toei, Tokyo Broadcast System, Nippon Television, Avex Entertainment, Asmik Ace, Gaga Communications, Tokyo International Film Festival, Tokyo FILMeX, Skip City International D-Cinema Festival, and individual film directors and producers including Kiyoshi Kurosawa and Sabu. Selected works include Tomorrow's Joe (Fumihiko Sori), Troubleman (Sabu) and K-20: The Legend of the Black Mask (Shimako Sato).
He is currently focusing on screenwriting and producing. He is serving as an associate producer on upcoming Max Mannix project Yellow Earth.
