Lila is frightened by the world around her. When she meets Sam she begins to share her fears with him. Their mutual outlook on life inhibits them together. However, as their relationship develops so too does Lilas surreal ability to produce living creatures from the palm of her hand. As she struggles to come to terms with her deteriorating reality her relationship to Sam becomes sporadic and eventually deadly.
