ABOUT
|
|
A mysterious plague has infected a small community. Those that are dying are purposefully infecting the remaining population and no one knows how to stop them. Widespread panic begins to ensue as more and more loved ones and neighbors succumb to the illness. The uninfected begin to board themselves in their homes, hoping to wait out the madness, but when the dead are the enemy, how long can the living hold out?
Thrust into the center of this mass hysteria, a young girl is charged with the protection of her five-year-old niece. They struggle to survive from one community to the next in hopes of escaping the plague.
The Light of Daigh delivers a world never before touched by the undead, and creates a new prospective on zombie lore. TLD creator Russ Adams adds his own horrific circumstances to zombie mythology by introducing never before seen attributes to the undead, while injecting the tragedy and failings of heroism into the film.

These last few months have been extremely busy, but we have found time to make a few updates.
We held auditions for the Trailer in Ogden and Salt Lake City, Utah in mid September 2009. Of nearly 100 auditions, we chose the following people.
1. Savannah Ostler as Daigh
2. Danny James as Liza’s Father
3. Alivia Leonelli as Liza
4. Bronwyn Hadlock as Liza’s Mother
5. Richard Purdy as the Grandfather
6. Debora Jennings, Shae Sill, Kevin Hoagland, Russ Adams, and Jason Ratcliff, as our Zombies.
7. Jared Wheeler and Karl Thomas filled in as extras.
We started shooting the TLD Trailer on Oct 3rd, 2009, the pickups on Oct. 24th, 2009. Our intention for the Trailer is to make it available to potential investors, in hopes to raise the funds needed to shoot the feature.
Over 40 cast and crewmembers volunteered their time to create this visual display for the film. The shoot took roughly 18 hours, and by the time we wrapped everyone was ecstatic with the footage. The Lewis Brothers, of Studio 1 Pictures, served as DP. Their work was truly astonishing.
They handed off the P2 card to James Cawley, of Ridgedline Creative, who has been putting our two trailers together ever since. James was kind enough to share the initial Trailer’s rough-cut with us. The material was, in a word, magnificent! Several people, fortunate enough to see it with us, marveled at the level of professional appeal, then jumped out of their skin as one of the zombies… well, you’ll just have to wait and see.
We are talking about giving our Facebook & Myspace Friends a one-time invite to the Trailers premier in mid Nov. 2009. Ridgeline Creative is confident they will have our trailers out of post in time for the premier/wrap party. There will be nearly 600 invitations sent out. If you want to be one of them, go to http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Light-of-Daigh/318076410045 and become a fan. |
