Let There Be Light

Jewish Heart for Africa: Bringing sustainable Israeli technologies to African villages

Our Story

Jewish Heart for Africa's mission is simple: we bring solar and agricultural technologies from Israel to Africa. Since 2008, we've completed 47 solar projects alone (check them out here: www.jhafrica.org/projects). These are solar powered schools for students and adults to study in the evening; medical clinics for emergency nighttime medical care and refrigeration of lifesaving vaccines; and water pumps for providing clean water to communities in need.

The Impact

So far, we've reached 200,000 people, but there are so many more who need us. Together, in the next eight days, our mission is to bring solar power to the 7,890 people of Sapiri, Uganda. Right now, they don't have access to proper medical care at night. Their children are born by the light of candles and kerosene lamps, and many don't receive lifesaving vaccines because their clinic doesn't have a refrigerator. We can change all that with $10,000.

What We Need & What You Get

The $10,000 we raise will pay for the solar panels, lights bulbs and solar powered refrigerator necessary for Sapiri Health Center to offer the quality of medical care their community deserves. We know 8 days isn't a long time, but with your help, we can make it happen.
