A Land that Forgets
The simple love story of a boy and a canoe in a town that is fading away.
A tragic tale of death and rebirth centered around the final weeks of one young man’s life, this short film creates a dreamlike reality where history is buried, reborn, and buried again.
Glass Curtain Pictures is a grass roots independent production company from Vancouver, British Columbia. Striving to produce works that respect the intelligence of the audience and challenge ourselves as filmmakers, we work together to co-produce and self-finance our own works.
Our first short film It’s not as if we haven’t been here for a while… has recently been awarded Best Dramatic Short at the DIY film festival in Hollywood. Our individual works have previously been screened in festivals across North America. A Land that Forgets will be our second short film produced together.
Although we try to keep costs as minimal as possible in our productions, there are certain expenses that cannot be avoided. So here we are asking for your help.
A Land that Forgets will be a 15 minute film shot in 4K HD on the Red One Camera. The photo gallery page is a sample of photographs from our location scout. They give you a good idea of the visual style that will be used in the film.
The cast and crew will all be volunteers comprised of great local actors, fellow filmmaker friends, and parents. But this does not mean it won’t be professional, it just means it will be a great atmosphere. Our first day of shooting is July 23rd, 2010!
