About Me

Joshua Ellis is the creator of Dbasr. He is a web developer, writer, musician and producer in Las Vegas, NV.

In 2003, Joshua co-founded and served as creative director for Mperia, an early independent online music store. He has also served as a designer/developer for several startups and technology companies, including Volette and MedWeb.

As a writer, Joshua began his career at the age of 18 writing for legendary cyberculture magazine Mondo 2000. He was a regular syndicated columnist for the Las Vegas CityLife alternative weekly newspaper from 2000-2007. In 2002 he was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for a series of stories co-written with editor Matt O’Brien about homeless people living in storm drains beneath Las Vegas, which was later turned into a popular book by O’Brien.

Joshua is also the lead singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist for Las Vegas band Red State Soundsystem, who released their debut album Ghosts In A Burning City in December 2009. He has also done remixes for artists such as Big Friendly Corporation and Loyal Divide.
