Award-winning writer-director-producer-cinematographer John Kearns, Jr. has written, directed, and produced two short films; directed two short films; written (created), directed, and produced two television pilots; executive produced a national television series; written four screenplays; cinematographer for three shorts and two music videos; and many other projects.
John has 10 years experience in the business and my resume includes projects from PAX Network, Sony Pictures Television, WebMD, and also Women’s Entertainment. My passions are cinematography, directing, and editing. I have had the pleasure to work as a producer, production manager, camera operator, location sound mixer or boom operator, location scout, gaffer, key grip, dolly grip, and best boy.
His first three shorts, New Disguise (2000), Life-N-General (2001), Caught In The Act (2003) have shown at numerous film festivals. In 2005, John’s project, Palmetto Pointe (2005) was picked up for distribution and was broadcast on Paxson Communications (now ION) – I Network (The United States sixth broadcasting network).
He is the recipient of the Atlantis Film Festival Award for Best Message from the Atlantis Adventure Film Festival. Prior to becoming a filmmaker, John worked for Time Warner Cable and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Religion and a minor in Film Communications from Liberty University.
