In 1988 Jeremy became Producer for directing duo Big TV! making music videos and commercials at the now defunct Vivid Films and then at Limelight. Commercials for Levis and Nike; Music video projects included 10,000 Maniacs, Paula Abdul, The Beloved, Duran Duran, The Happy Mondays, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Seal, and Soul 2 Soul.

From 1992-1994 Jeremy took on the role as a freelance producer in Los Angeles California, here he produced commercials for directors such as Gore Verbinski, Ben Stiller, and Russell Mulcahy to name a few. The commercials he produced include clients such as Air France, Budweiser, Converse, Fila, Saab, Sprite, and United Airlines.

From 1994 1996 Jeremy was head of production for the now defunct Palomar Pictures Inc. In 1996 Jeremy moved to London and set up and managed the U.K branch of the U.S based Palomar Pictures and was executive producer / producer on commercials for Brooklyn Gum, BP, Coca-Cola, Ford, LOreal, Opel, Wrangler Jeans, as well as music videos. While with Palomar pictures Jeremy worked with directors Gore Verbinski, Nick Brandt, Veit Helmer, James Ivory, Melodie McDaniel, David Mallett, Paul Meijer, and Jean-Baptiste Mondino.

In 1998 2002 Jeremy moved to Tomato Films ltd in London where he set up and ran (as a shareholder) a production company for tomato design and was executive producer / producer on commercials, documentaries (including the Apeman dramatizations for the BBC), corporate and TV channel idents, movie & TV titles, music videos and short films, 3 that were in association with Film4. There were commercials for Apollinaris, BBC radio, Dell, Freeserve, NTL, Renault, Sony, ps2, and VW and a groundbreaking interactive DVD everything everything for the band Underworld.

From 2003 to 2007 Jeremy was based in L.A as a freelance producer.

Currently, Jeremy Barrett is an Executive Producer / Partner at Paydirt Pictures, founded in 2008.
