This new DVD will share our discoveries about lively music, congregational song, and creativity in service to the life of faith. While it focuses on jazz as one form of music, it will share basic principles that can extend to any genre of music. The DVD will be developed with a wide audience in mind. It will offer practical examples along with theological reflection on the power of music to transform a congregation, extend its reach, and deepen its spiritual vitality.

We want to create this DVD because there is no other resource like it. Together we will explore the spiritual power of creative music. We will hear from jazz musicians, church leaders, and choir directors as they talk about the possibilities and potential of jazz. With lots of footage of live music in numerous settings, we will show what happens when jazz enlivens the life of faith. This will be a full length DVD suitable for adult classes, worship committees, study groups, and personal enrichment. A study guide will be included for those who wish to unpack its insights.
