James was born and bred in Brighton and grew up in East Sussex and retains many working connections there and is a regular panel guest at events hosted by such organisations as Lighthouse and Screen South.
He produced the feature length documentary Beyond Biba: A Portrait of Barbara Hulanicki in 2009. He then released the film himself in the UK, culminating in over 65 cinema screenings followed by a successful DVD release. It was then sold to a number of territories including SKY TV (UK) and The Sundance Channel (Europe/Asia).
In 2011, James released Beetle Queen Conquers Tokyo his first film as a distributor in the UK with the aim of releasing three to five films a year. He is currently developing his new documentary, A Very British Cult, which will start shooting in March - www.novemberfilms.co.uk
