Laura Newman is currently on the film festival circuit with her short, SEXY CLOWN BITCH, an Official Selection of the Avignon Film Festival, Big Apple Film Festival, Santa Fe Film Festival and many others. She is also directing and producing the documentary series SEX ED with producer Blayne K. Ross, and is in pre-production on her first narrative feature, KIDS ARE RIGHT. She is also a producer on Josh Fox’s 2nd feature RAGE OF NATURE about the gas drilling crisis in America.

Past projects include directing and producing a commercial campaign for Wiley Publishing’s new book Toy Monster. Laura also directed and produced 6 comic viral web-videos for Collaborative Health, LLC. She worked for Oxfam International as a collaborating director and producer on the music video IN MY NAME with music by Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas. In partnership with the Lower Eastside Girl’s Club, Laura directed and produced WHAT’Z UP! NEWS, a TV news show created by the kids and mentored by professional journalists and videographers. Recently, she directed and edited a segment for the TV show THE LAST TELVANGELIST, airing nationally on Free Speech TV. Her previous short film, PET PEEVE, was in the top 10 best of a Nerve.com video contest and an Official Selection of the 2005 Palm Spring International Shorts Festival and the E.Vil City Film Festival in NYC.

Laura is a graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
