Finding Purpose, Finding Adventure, Finding Life

Our World is changing, and we are near crisis. But in this crisis, we have an opportunity to become better people, to grow, to change, and to protect our world as we support ourselves.

I am seeing the world change faster than any time in human history, and I must change with it.

In 2010, I graduated Willamette University in Salem, OR, and pursued a career in film. Recently though, I've seen so many inspriring things which have made me realize that my career, and my lifestyle must help the environment, and people at the same time.

Pursuing a a career in film, I became utterly inspired by seeing the people who have dedicated their lives to healing our environment...Organizations like Bay Localize in Oakland, Solar Startups like Solar Mosaic, the global occupy movement, and now...permaculture.

In my 6 months since I moved to New Zealand, I've been inspired by the permaculture movement and it's abiity to heal our world, and give us purpose. This has spurned me into looking into a career in sustainable consulting, which will allow me to transform degraded into forests and food, and suburbs into community villages.

My heroes are not politicians, or celebrities, but scientists, people like Willie Smitts, Geoff Lawton, Trish Allen, Albert Bates....people who are dedicating their lives to make sure the next generation inherit a world where things might be better.

This autumn, I hope to raise the funds to go to Malaysia, and so I can do my part to help Orangutans before they may be lost forever.

You can see more about what I've been up to here:

My Blog

http://www.raleighdownunder.blogspot.co.nz/

My Film sight:

www.lathamfilm.net
