She's written articles for Wired, Popular Science, and the New York Times Magazine and produces radio segments for American Public Media, Public Radio International, and WNYC. She was also a Correspondent at Boing Boing and a Senior Fellow at Creative Commons. Her book, Urawaza: Secret Everyday Tips and Tricks from Japan, won the STEP Design Award in 2009, and her blog, TokyoMango.com, was the runner-up for The Weblog Awards' Best Asian Blog that same year. Her story about men with body pillow girlfriends inspired an episode of 30 Rock featuring James Franco. She is also a rock climber and triathlete, and generally a great connector of people.</span>
