Bio: Award-winning writer-director-producer-cinematographer John Kearns, Jr. has written, directed, and produced two short films; directed two short films; written (created), directed, and produced two television pilots; executive produced a national television series; written four screenplays; cinematographer for three shorts and two music videos; and many other projects.
John has 10 years experience in the business and my resume includes projects from PAX Network, Sony Pictures Television, WebMD, and also Women's Entertainment. My passions are cinematography, directing, and editing. I have had the pleasure to work as a producer, production manager, camera operator, location sound mixer or boom operator, location scout, gaffer, key grip, dolly grip, and best boy.
His first three shorts, New Disguise (2000), Life-N-General (2001), Caught In The Act (2003) have shown at numerous film festivals. In 2005, John's project, Palmetto Pointe (2005) was picked up for distribution and was broadcast on Paxson Communications (now ION) - I Network (The United States sixth broadcasting network).
He is the recipient of the Atlantis Film Festival Award for Best Message from the Atlantis Adventure Film Festival. Prior to becoming a filmmaker, John worked for Time Warner Cable and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Religion and a minor in Film Communications from Liberty University.

Please Note: My company, Cinewerks can provide you with much more, we own much of our own gear. Here is brief list of what equipment we have: 1-ton grip package with doorway dolly & track, tungsten and kino flo lighting packages/kits, location sound package, and cameras such as the XL-2 or the HVX-200.
We also have a relationship with Wilmington Camera Services (formerly Joe Dunton Cameras) and can obtain the RED ONE camera or 35mm/S16mm film and other high def cameras for your project.
Our company has a history of supporting independent filmmakers, small agencies, and corporate projects.
Cinewerks is willing to give additional discounts on equipment rentals for projects that I am hired as the Cinematographer/Director of Photography or Director for.
If your a low/no budget production, please still keep us in mind and we understand that you don't have much money or resources for your production.
