Bio: SHARON LEVY is president of Dovetail Productions, producing theater, film and music and developing new work www.dovetail-productions.com. She is the producer for "Mabou Mines DollHouse" which has toured the world since 2004 and was filmed for Arte French television in 07. It will begin broadcasting in March 08. Also produced Lee Breuer and Bob Telson’s "The Gospel at Colonus", most recently at the Vienna Festival and at Harlem’s Apollo Theater with Charles S. Dutton and The Blind Boys of Alabama. She was General Manager for Bagdad Café–The Musical, based on the Percy Adlon film which premiered in Barcelona in 04 and subsequently toured Germany and France, with a score by Bob Telson, composer of the Academy Award-nominated song "Calling You", from the film. She has produced numerous theatre and music events including "The Works", a 12-hour music marathon featuring chamber, jazz, electronic, and art songs for Meet The Composer; the jazz opera "Lulu Noire" for the Spoleto and American Music Theater Festivals; and the Tribute to King Oliver concert for the 96 Olympics. She was manager to jazz trumpeter Jon Faddis and his sextet, presenting the legacy of Dizzy Gillespie. Early career includes work with the British Theatre of the Deaf; Australian director Nigel Triffit (Tap Dogs), and the Alliance Theatre and Theatrical Outfit in Atlanta where she was Producing Director throughout the 1980’s, producing more than 40 plays and musicals. She has twice received awards from The National Endowment for the Arts.
