Bio: Hello, everyone! I am one of the founders of IndieGoGo. Welcome to our world where independent happens!

In my pre-IndieGoGo life I was a finance geek covering the entertainment industry - including fun companies like Lions Gate and Pixar. While I like numbers, I love independent film. So I left Wall Street to start a company that would democratize film finance. I then met my two fabulous co-founders: Eric and Slava, and IndieGoGo was born. Though we all do a bit of everything, I focus on finance and customer development.

A few random facts about me: In the wake of 9/11, I co-produced a concert reading of an Arthur Miller play addressing the politically charged topic of racial profiling.

I've also helped sell an NFL football team, jumped out of a plane, and hitch-hiked through Indonesia (not all at the same time:)

Hey LaLa069, Thanks for the friend request. Your trailer is fascinating. Love the music. To start fundraising I recommend two things: break your funding goal into buckets and raise money in rounds, e.g. $10,000 for equipment rental, or $5,000 for the editor. Raise money in rounds so you build a track record of execution. Then prepare an email blast (including a widget so people can click to your project directly) with a call to action - "Help me hire an editor. Every little bit counts!"

Ya. I am gonna start shooting a few short films in what's left of the school year. Really like the site. Hopefully it keeps growing and growing. I haven't messed around with the widgets yet but as soon as I get some footage going I'll see what that's all about; and see if I can get some extra money/support. Congrats on making it through Indonesia, it's on my to do list.
