Together we raised nearly $15,000 dollars!!!  While ya'll have been generously funding our new album, we have been finishing the album, hitting the road, playing shows, selling merch, and putting all the proceeds into our HFags bank account.  After many months of our combined efforts, the Hope For Agoldensummer IndieGoGo project is a success.

Howdy there.
Have we told you what a fox you are? Youre just so gorgeous, we cant stop staring.
Let us introduce ourselves. Our name is Hope For Agoldensummer. We are a family band from Athens, GA and are just about done making a new album.  We saw you at the farmers market last Tuesday and the following thought occurred to us, Each & every person who likes our music is physically beautiful, highly intelligent, & unusually generous. Surely such angelic beings would want to PRE-ORDER OUR NEW ALBUM.

Here, let us tell you about our project. This is the fourth Hope For Agoldensummer album. It is yet untitled. There are 16 songs. Some you may have heard and some are secrets. It will undoubtedly be enclosed in lovely and environmentally ethical packaging, featuring drawings by our own Page Campbell & Deb Davis. We expect to release this album in late Winter or early Spring 2011.

We are offering many killer perks in return for pre-ordering the new album and thus funding the completion of this project. AND TAKE NOTE: CLAIRE CAMPBELL HEREBY PROMISES & GUARANTEES TO MAKE A VIDEO OF HERSELF STANDING ATOP A MOUNTAIN OR IN A RUSHING RIVER BELLOWING OUT THE NAMES OF (& GRATITUDE FOR) EVERY PERSON WHO HELPS US FINISH THIS PROJECT. SHE MIGHT EVEN WEAR A DRESS AND POSSIBLY SOME WATERPROOF MASCARA.

So, you might be asking yourself exactly how far along weve made it on our own. We banked most of the money from all our shows and merch sales over the past year and thereby raised about $6000... but we  could use a bit more, dear friend.  Currently, we are in the mixing stage. This means all of the voices, instruments, insects and birds have been recorded and those sounds are now being blended into songs. Heres our schedule of expenses:

RECORDING: This part is complete! Our total cost for all the recording sessions and compensating our friends for their performances totals about $5000.?
MIXING: This part is nearly complete! There are 16 strange and sonically unique songs so this project will require a bit more time than the average album and should cost $1000. Were doin it at Pop Heart Studio in Athens, GA.?
MASTERING: We will master the album in mid-August. This will cost around $550. We are planning to master with Joel Hatstat in Athens.?
MANUFACTURING OF DISCS: It costs appx $1100 to make 2000 qty CDs w/o packaging. We plan to use Rovix in North Carolina.?
MANUFACTURING OF PACKAGING: As is our custom, we will use non-plastic packaging and the artwork will be stellar. We are estimating $4000 to manufacture packaging and liner notes for 2000 CDs. We plan to use Stumptown in Oregon and Bel Jean in Athens, GA. ?
RADIO & PUBLICITY: We are still sorting this one out, but it should run around $3500. Most likely we will use Team Clermont in Athens, GA.?
TOUR: With the release of every album must surely follow a tour around the Southeast and up to NYC. Generally this costs us a few thousand for van rental and petrol. We aint including that in our fundraising goal because the road is kind to us and we generally break even or more.?
VINYL: Weve not yet decided if we will additionally have this album mastered for and manufactured into 12 vinyl. Theyre much more expensive than CDs. Sigh. The possibility is based entirely on how this IndieGoGo campaign rounds out. If we meet and exceed our goal, then we might could let yall upgrade from CD to vinyl if you so desire. And that would be flippin sweet!
