Hawaii's First Fashion Incubator

The Hawaii Fashion Incubator (Hifi) is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts services organization. Since 2006, Hifi has helped scores of local designers and fashion professionals gain exposure through our events, membership program, and pop-up boutique. We provide resources for students and emerging designers, and collaborate with many key players from Hawaii and the international fashion industry.  Earlier this year, Hifi hosted a 10-day pop-up fashion incubator event at Ala Moana to test the concept of a permanent fashion incubator. The event was a huge success, with 18 local designers selling their work and over 25 fashion events, classes, and workshops on the calendar.  The event demonstrated how a physical space can bring the community together around fashion and gave us the confidence to move forward with our long-held goal of a permanent fashion incubator space in Honolulu.

TODAY, WITH YOUR HELP, WE ARE REALIZING THAT DREAM.

We just got the keys to what will be Hawaii's first physical Fashion Incubator, at Ward Warehouse Shopping Center in the heart of Honolulu's shopping district. Demolition and construction has begun with a design team from Collaborative Design Workshop, Unleash Studio and Retail Therapy to develop 1,500 square feet into a dynamic hub for fashion. In the plans: a retail space for local design & fashion events, a studio for classes & shared workspace, a library, photography studio, and more. As a supporter of Hifi, you can be among the first to see the space in its raw form and weigh in on how we can help you fast track your project and together create a go-to spot for fashion in Hawaii.

By contributing to our funding campaign (and hopefully becoming a Hifi member), you'll benefit from all Hifi has to offer AND have a hand in writing the next chapter in HI fashion.

What We Need & What You Get

In order to get the incubator space spruced up and ready for action, we're looking to raise community generated funding for materials & manpower.

Other Ways You Can Help

(1) Join Hifi - If you consider yourself a member of Hawaii's fashion community OR a serious supporter, Hifi membership makes good sense.  It'll give you a listing in our member directory and access to the incubator space for hosting meetings, photo shoots, events, classes, and more. Not to mention discounts on workspace and events.  Check out www.hawaiifashion.org/join to learn more.

(2) Use The Space - Make Hifi your go-to place for all your upcoming events - trunk shows, launch parties, classes, meetings, mixers, etc. Host a making-party for yourself or your kids. Or drop in and work on a project. Just e-mail us with your ideas and check the website and Facebook page for upcoming events.

(3) Spread the Word - Know anyone who likes sewing, photography, art, crafting, or just likes being around other creative people? How about someone with a creative skill & a knack for teaching it? What about someone with sewing equipment they're not using? Tell them about Hifi, and share this Indie GoGo campaign with all your social networks.

(4) Offer a Perk - Sometimes it takes a little extra carrot to make the difference.  If you support Hifi and want the world to know it, offer a perk to potential members and donors.  Let others know that the community wants this incubator in a big way.
