The Heymann Brothers Films Company has been operating for almost ten years now and specializes in long term documentary projects with a social and political orientation. The company was founded by Tomer Heymann, one of the leading documentary directors in Israel. In 2003 Barak Heymann, Tomer’s younger brother, joined the company and has since directed and produced an impressive number of documentary films for TV and cinema. The Heymann Brothers work has been screened on major TV broadcasting channels in Israel and broadcasting channels around the globe. Their unique style as well as courage, emphasized by their motivation to deal with topics that are often considered provocative and controversial, has marked them as a home for well made documentaries and has brought them acknowledgment by the Documentary International Industry. Participating in major film festivals, the Heymann Brothers have received an impressive number of prizes, such as for the film Paper Dolls, which won in three different categories at the Berlin Festival 2006. I Shot My Love is Tomers new documentary and his most personal film. The film premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival on February 2010, won the Best Mid-Length Award at HotDocs Film Festival and was selected to many prestigious film festivals around the world, among them Dok/Fest Sheffield.
