About Me

I'm John Blythe, and I run Film Regions International, Inc. (FRI), a Los Angeles based independent film production company. My professional career began working as a Co-Producer for an Emmy Award winning filmmaker on a historical documentary production for PBS. Since then, I've worked in the production field primarily independent films managing budgets, preparing cost reports, contracts and actors reports from SAG (U.S.) and ACTRA (Canada). As CEO of FRI, I've developed co-productions through my company from extensive networking and established partnerships with filmmakers in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Indonesia. My goal is to develop business opportunities for independent filmmakers while taking advantage of the growing technological developments and digital distribution platforms, and while the motion picture industry continues to go through economic restructuring, independent filmmakers are at an advantage with the current growing trends. I am also a graduate of UCLA's Business and Management of Entertainment Program.
