Born and raised in northern California, Erik started making short movies when he was nine, using his dad’s beat up super 8 camera. He received his BA in English Literature from UCLA, but discovered that the film bug was not so easy to shed. He enrolled in the undergraduate film program at Cal State Long Beach, studying under director and UCLA graduate Film professor Rory Kelly (IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0446837/). At Long Beach State, he wrote and directed a handful of short films including “The Balloonman”, “An Imposition”, and his final project, “Half a Pact” which earned him a spot in the prestigious Director’s Guild Showcase (see media link). Erik went on to finish up his MA in English, and presently teaches Freshman Composition at Los Angeles Southwest College. Nevertheless, Erik’s passion for film has not subsided. He has written four feature screenplays, one of which, “Good Humor” is presently in pre-production.
