Hi its Chad Scott, welcome to the Feel Good music project. I'd like to invite you to experience the Awesome Power of Positive music to elevate your life, the lives of at risk youth and change the world for the better.  I've teamed up with 9 other Amazing and Gifted conscious music artists and our goal is to raise $100,000 to do 3 things:

  1. Create a platform for 10 amazing artists to get their music to the masses with a 20 date live tour called the Feel Good Festival includes yoga, fitness, and health food with a local non-profit beneficiary (Dates to be held between May and August 2012, Exact Times and Venues will be announced in February).
  2. To create a compilation CD of these same 10 artists that will be rewarded to you in exchange for donating to this campaign and donated to at risk youth programs like Boys and Girls Club of America and United Roots Oakland
  3. Last but not least, to empower millions of people through our CD and Festival with healthy lifestyle choices like yoga, fitness, and healthy food.

Right now thanks to the indiegogo platform you can participate in this important undertaking by making a Tax Deductible donation and receive rewards and perks for helping us (Perks located on the right of your screen).  So Please read this entire page or watch the video on the left and support with whatever you can.

"All contributions to this project are 100% Tax Deductible to the extent that law will permit."

Why The Feel Good Music Project?

As a professional musician for the last 12 years I've been dedicated to changing peoples lives with Feel Good Music and as a yoga instructor I've been helping people feel good with their mind, body and spirit for over 8 years.  During this time I learned a lot about what it means to really Feel Good, but I'll never forget what I learned from an interview I did with world renowned neuroscientist and pharmacologist Dr. Candice Pert who
told me this.

"People Are Hard Wired For Bliss
And Will Choose Whatever Vehicle They Can To Feel Good."

Problem is, typically the vehicles we choose to feel good create more harm than good, and we end up with hangovers, breakups, fights, fatigue, depression, divorce, disease and even death.  Those things don't feel too good, which is why I created the Feel Good CD and the Feel Good Festival.  In this presentation I'm first going to show you why Feel Good Music & the Feel Good Festival is way more than just fun and good times, but can actually help:

  • Reduce Violence And Drug Abuse In Our Communities
  • Build Your Confidence
  • Build Self-Esteem
  • Improve Your Mood
  • Your Motivation Level

Not only that but the Feel Good Festival itself

  • Breaks Down The Walls That Separate Us
  • Brings Communities Together
  • Helps You Meet Really Amazing People
  • All With ZERO NEGATIVE SIDE EFFECTS.

What's My Story?

I took a very different path than most musicians I wasn't one of those kids that had a guitar in his hand at 3, singing in the choir at 5 and his first concerto at 7 no I didn't pick up my first instrument until I was 26.  I went school for sports and business seeking to make my mark either as a professional football player or a wealthy business man.   Well I made it to millionaire status in my early 20's and lived what most people considered the "good life," snowboarding and surfing throughout the year, hanging out, partying and traveling the world.
But after a few years I noticed I just wasn't Feeling that Good anymore.  In fact, I felt pretty empty and deeply unfulfilled.

After a year of soul searching, a friend of mine turned me on to the acoustic guitar and the light bulb just went on.  I embarked on a grueling 12 year journey that has taken me to the edge of poverty, living on canned tuna and having to sell all my instruments to pay the rent, to the depths of despair suffering innumerable illnesses from depression and anxiety, to the highs of success from crafting 3 critically acclaimed albums, touring across America and licensing my music on MTV, HBO and several commercials.

But what I got was something way bigger that I ever imagined and I'm so grateful.. not for the success, but for the failures that drove me the wall, beat me down and crushed my once huge ego which prevented me from unleashing my TRUE ability.

I became a yoga instructor and youth mentor and learned how to give without always thinking what's in it for me  Feeling Good was no longer just about popping a hit of ecstasy, shoveling down a gallon of ice cream or even being famous.  No, feeling good came from expanding my life in all directions and tapping into my infinite creative powers to release timeless gems like Rise up.  And I'm not alone, each one of the other 9 artists represented here are living their own message through their music.

How Can Music Possibly Change Lives?

If you don't already know the average teen listens to roughly 3 hours of music every day.  Several studies including the "The Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine" have now proven that the average teen is exposed to 35,000 references to substance abuse every year and these references have a noticeable impact on their behavior, mood and personal identity.

In another study of university students, "The American Psychological Society" published a report stating that research has definitively proved the link between youth violence and violent music.  This impact of music is beyond any other form of media and determines factors like:

  • How you speak to your friends and family.
  • Whether you consider yourself a winner, a looser a gangster or racist.
  • Whether or not you resort to violence when someone says or does something you don't like.
  • Whether or not you decide to abuse drugs.
  • Whether you decide to stay in bed all day or go find a job.

So What Is The Solution?

Just like negative, violent music creates negative violent behavior so does positive, empowering music make you more positive, motivated and self-confident.  So rather than focusing on the problem we'll focus on the solution of creating and spreading more positive empowering music; so much so, that it will simply dominate the airwaves, the concert halls, the festivals, the television and most importantly the ears of our impressionable youth.

Now imagine the majority of the music on the radio, MTV and live performances with positive messages and how this could impact the world to have a real noticeable impact in reducing violence and drug abuse in our society, while at the same time increasing confidence and self-esteem.  It's possible and right now I'm going to show you how.

Step 1 is the Feel Good Festival

Formerly known as Three Waves A Day the Feel Good Festival Is kind of like a smaller version of the Vans Warped Tour but Its mission is support and promote positive music and healthy lifestyle choices like yoga, healing arts, fitness, surfing and healthy food. There will be 20 events in the US (see tentative tour schedule below) which feature 10 of the best up and coming positive music artists dedicated to changing the world. There will also be yoga activities and FREE health food from our sponsors, with raffle donations going to a local charity.

Step 2 is the Feel Good Music Project Compilation CD

As part of the Feel Good Festival our goal is release the Feel Good Music Project CD into the ears of the masses.  This is a compilation of 10 tracks from some of the most uplifting, talented musicians you will ever hear.  Now that you know how powerful positive music is you can use this CD to lift yourself or others anytime you want.  The CD will be given to donors of this campaign as well as given out to at risk youth programs like the Boys and Girls Club of America and United Roots Oakland.

Where Exactly Does The Money Go?

We want to be totally transparent and honest about where this money goes so we gave you the budget item by item below.  If for some reason we don't hit our goal of $100,000 in 60 days we will simply scale back our budget and give out less CDs and hold less events.

P.S.
By the way I'm don't want to dim my light so other people don't feel insecure around me.  My personal goal is to win a Grammy for Best Album by 2013 and spread positive music to millions of people.  If you think this is too bold or overconfident I'll share a quote from world renowned author and speaker, Marianne Williamson:

"Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. "

So I'm playing big and I hope I can inspire you to do the same.  Thanks again for your support.
