Journeys a big deal why do you need the money?

Great question!  In order to keep this film independent, and get it to the largest possible worldwide audience, we must go through the independent documentary financing structure which is highly competitive and limited!  By contributing to our campaign, you are DIRECTLY bringing it that much closer to hitting a theater near you.

Who are you?

We are an independent filmmaking team who are inspired to find as wide of an audience as possible for Arnels incredible story.  The team is led by director Ramona Diaz, whose documentary film Imelda won the Excellence in Cinematography award at the Sundance Film Festival and was later showcased on PBSs acclaimed series Independent Lens" (find out more at www.cinediaz.com).  The film is produced by Capella Fahoome Brogden (I Do & I Dont, Lost in ) and Executive Produced by Josh Green (Kassim the Dream, Beauty Remains).

What exactly do you need?

Principle photography of the film is wrapped, and we must now secure $50,000 to pay editorial fees including digitizing our footage, hiring transcribers, translators and loggers, and most importantly, to pay our hard-working editor Leah to begin crafting the first cut.  This goal will keep us going on our strict editing timeline meaning your contributions will directly help us get the film finished.

Ive already pre-ordered Journeys new album and bought tickets to see them live.  Why should I now spend money on this campaign?

We want our films release to coincide with the album release and its supportive tour, but this will only happy as a result of with your continued support!  The film chronicles the amazing back story behind said album and tour and will undoubtedly spread Journey fever across the world once again.  Any amount you can contribute will bring us that much closer to getting this film released, so if you think our film is nifty, help us reach fifty!

Im a diehard Journey fan and know the whole story.  Why would I want to see this movie?

This film is more than just an account of Arnel's back story and his experiences with the band. It is a thrilling, first-hand look at how the personal histories of Arnel and the members of Journey simultaneously reach a crucial turning point upon Neal's Youtube discovery of Arnel.  After crossing this bold threshold, all experience a whirlwind of obstacles, surprises and breakthroughs which push them further on their personal journeys than they could have imagined.  Our film intimately follows the day-to-day obstacles, expectations and pressures surrounding Arnel's initiation, and connects them with a series of electrifying live performances. The music progressively channels the emotional rollercoaster of the story, which ultimately brings all members together as a real, cohesive band.

How does contributing work?

First, look at the perks on the right hand side of the page to see what prizes you can receive from your contribution.  After choosing a contribution amount, select it by clicking on the tab next to the contribute now button on the top right corner of the screen.  After selecting your contribution, hit the contribute now button.

You will be directed to the payment page, where you will be asked to confirm your donation amount, enter your contact information, pick how youd like your contribution to be displayed, (see Who will know how much I contributed? below) and add a supportive comment if you choose.  Finally, you will be asked to select one of three payment options: debit/credit card, PayPal or check.  After entering the necessary information, finalize your contribution by hitting the Contribute! button at the bottom of the page.

If youd like to contribute more than the perk minimum, simply select other in the contribution tab on the top right corner of the main page and click the contribute now button.  You will be asked to enter your desired contribution amount, and will then be redirected to the contribution page.

How do the perks work?

The perks, which are designated by contribution amount, consist of material items (signed posters, DVDs, iPod giveaway, etc.) and non-material items (access to exclusive web content, official credits, networking opportunities, etc.). You will be contacted shortly after the campaign ends about how and when items will be distributed.  Some of the material items such as DVD copies will not be immediately available, since they will not be manufactured until after the films release.

Who will know how much I contributed?

After selecting your payment, you can choose your visibility as a contributor.  Your options include: Visible: with your name and contribution amount visible on the Funders section of the campaign, Identity only: with your name visible and your contribution amount concealed, and Anonymous: with neither your name nor contribution displayed.

Can the goal be exceeded?

Absolutely, and we hope it is!  As with any independently-produced film, there are many costs to cover.  Our $50,000 goal will allow us to kickstart the editing process, but extra funds will help us complete the editing process and deal with other financial hurdles in post production.

Can I give my perks as a gift?

Yes, and this could be a great surprise for any Journey-loving friends or family!  To send your perks to another person, make your donation as you normally would, then send a private message to the project creator with all of the necessary shipping information and a special message for the recipient.

Do I have to be in the United States to donate?

No, you can donate from anywhere in the world.
