Everyone has a story to Tell
I am an independent New Zealand filmmaker.
I graduated South Seas Film and Television School with a Diploma in Film and Television Production majoring in Documentary Directing. Also completed several undergraduate papers in Film, Television and Media Studies at The University of Auckland.
My First short doco Lockie and Love won me the Documentary Winner award at the Filmaka Competition. My second short documentary For Alan was a finalist at the 2010 Wanaka Mountain Film Festival, was nominated for Best Documentary at the 2011 British Independent Film Festival, and screened at the 2011 Heart of Gold International Film Festival in Gympie, Australia.
In 2011, I directed and produced three shorts films, Playmates, BlindSide, and The Psychologist, which are all currently in post production. Also directed a six multi-camera shoot for the 2011 NZ Body Art Awards. This footage will be used for a feature documentary, The Living Canvas. Most recently a music video ‘Running Far’ by Broken Season that I directed and produced screened at the AllShorts Film and Music Video Festival in October 2011.
Last year as well as ‘BlindSide’, I directed and produced two other
short films ‘Playmates’ and ‘The Psychologist’.My short films ‘BlindSide’ has been
accepted into the Cannes Short Film Corner 2012, as part of the 65th
Festival de Cannes in May.
These three short films are by move in dramatic films. Previously I
have worked in the medium of documentary. My student short ‘Lockie and
Love’ won the Documentary award at the Filmaka Competition in 2009. My
documentary ‘For Alan’ was a finalist at the 2010 Wanaka Mountain Film
Festival, was nominated for Best Documentary at the 2011 British
Independent Film Festival, and screened at the 2011 Heart of Gold Film
Festival in Gympie, Australia.
I am looking forward to make more movies and get better and better at what i love doing.
