WHO ARE WE?

CYGNETS are 3 piece new wave band- a furious mix of guitars, synths, dancing, and despair. Idealists who believe music should be accessible, which is why theirs is free. A band not interested in doing things the way they've always been done.

Last year, we saved up thousands of dollars and spent it mixing, mastering, and pressing our debut album "Bleak Anthems". Then we gave it away for free to anyone who wanted it. Why? Because money is the means, not the ends. We just want to make good music and share it with as many people as possible.

THE IMPACT/WHY

The internet is now officially a game-changer for independent music. The days of corporations and big labels controlling artistic output are quickly fading all because people know how to find and support music they like on their own.

We are involved with every aspect of our music, and we want to keep it that way. With sites like this and people like you we want to prove that its viable to be a completely independent band in the ever-changing landscape of what its like to be an up-and-coming band.


WHAT WE NEED AND WHAT YOU GET

From the ground up, we put everything we can into our music. We produce and record in our own studio, film music videos and do our own photography. But we cant do everything by ourselves. We want to provide our listeners with the best experience possible, and thats where you come in.

We realize we're asking for a lot of money, but allow us to lay it all out for you. We put every cent and opportunity we get to good use. If we don't get to our final goal, these are the stages of what your money can do for us. At $3000, we get our album professionally mixed and mastered and get it up online, available to download for free. At $4300, we can afford to also get a CD pressing done. At $7000 we can also get it pressed on high quality audiophile vinyl.

We appreciate every bit of support we've gotten along the way. If you are willing to help with this endeavour, we want to give something back as a sign of our gratitude.

As we launch the second album, it will be free online (always!) as well as for sale at all major online retailers. The physical formats will be sold on the tour behind it and in independent record shops as we hope to expansively tour behind this album. Always keeping the music free will hopefully inspire people to buy it anyway and support the band.
