Our Story and How We Started

crumbs and cream nc is a mother and daughter team who live in a small, rural, mountain town in Mars Hill, North Carolina (north of Asheville, NC)- but hope to create a much larger community. It began with a sea salted dark chocolate caramel, which led to selling chocolates and confections locally and at western NC tailgate markets. And, now we plan on opening our own sweet spot of a shop.

Not only will we create a place where you can have wonderful artisan chocolates and desserts, but we will also create a place to meet your neighbors for a sense of community

Our goal has always been to open a shop in our small town of Mars Hill. This summer, our 'sweet' location has become available in the downtown area, and we will open a small chocolate/confection/dessert/coffee/tea shop in August 2011. Your Impact and Support

Some impacts are intangible. But, your contribution will help us open the doors to our entrepreneurial small business. You can donate as little as $10 or as much as you like.

What We Need and What You Get

Your contribution will help us buy many things for the sweet shop:
new paint
tear down of a floating wall
building new counter tops
chairs and tables
cash register
refrigerated display case
display accessories
coffee and tea brewing supplies
and the small things that we need to open (like paper towels and toilet paper).

Since opening a retail space is no small endeavor, the $1500 is only a small part of our overall goal. We are also looking for family and friends to lend micro loans to help us open in August 2011 (a month away). So, time is very limited. And, now the fun part: the Perks!
