The project:
'Copter' is a dance piece as well as a short dance film.
'Copter' is a duo between a RC helicopter and a woman.
A dancing mini helicopter is awesome and beautiful in itself, but there is more to this project, and we need you to make it come true!
This sci-fi inspired work is an unsettling tale of control, bonding and identification. Copter describes the relationship of a flying object, namely a helicopter, and a woman through constant power and control shifts. The piece questions our beliefs about the relationship we have with objects and the effect they have on our bodies.
The piece fluctuates from a epic cinematic perspective to a more intimate, direct relationship between the two performers. It reflects in an unexpected and surprising way to our human condition and reveals something about what it is to be alive.
Copter will look at childhood fantasies through the lens of adulthood, and fantasies of being an adult during childhood.
We intend to develop the work into a 15 minutes long live performance as well as a short dance film.
What your money is going to fund:
We are planning to raise $5000 through our Indiegogo campaign to realise this live performance and short film.
We are non-profit, so all the money collected is going to be invested in the project.
Your money will be put into production costs such as: artists fees, travel expenses ( train tickets to our residency), materials for the set and equipment for the production and live performance component.
A quick budget breakdown:
Rehearsal fee ( 2 person/ 3 weeks rehearsal): $2000
Helicopters
and maintenance:$ 800
Travel
and food expenses: $500
Film: $1800
By supporting us, you’re actually investing in the future of the show/film:
- As we are working with RC helicopters, a substantial part of the budget will be dedicated to the maintenance and acquisition of the machines for the show.
- Your money will also fund the filmed version of Copter, that will be submitted to several film festivals.
- Once the work is ready, we intend to tour the project. We already have an invitation from the Lincoln Perfoming Art Center for a work in progress showing in January, and we are in talks with other institutions about performance opportunities. Our partner, DanceDigital will support us in kind with studio-time.
What you will get:
First of all you will get one of the awesome perks listed in the right upper corner of the screen. There’s something for every purse size, no donation is too small, and everybody gets a gift.
By supporting us, you also enter the Copter community, with regular updates on exclusive “Behind the scenes” videos.
And of course, you will have the satisfaction to be the co-producer of an amazing show and film!

The Impact
As an artist, my goal is to make work that will stay with you and create an echo within your body and mind. I want to reflect on life in a way that maybe helps you, as a spectator, to reflect on life too.
I’m constantly looking at ways to connect my creative process to the greater public, through work- in-progesses sharings and workshops.
Crowdfunding is a fantastic way to make the public a real part of my work.
WE need YOU to make this project happen!!!
