Chronicles of EMS travels the world exploring EMS systems, how they operate and the personalities behind them. It is the first of its kind Social Television Programming that interacts with its audience during production.

From San Francisco to United Kingdom, every system has its unique differences that offer other providers a different perspective. Through realtime communication and social media, and the sharing of best practices bring paramedics and EMTs together in a community built around the web series. This community allows them to engage in dialogue, raising awareness and showcasing the real side of the EMS Industry.

Chronicles of EMS was developed by Director/ Producer/ Paramedic Thaddeus Setla NREMT-P. and Chris Montera NREMT-P. It was conceived as a chance to share the knowledge of how all EMS Systems operate and entertain the viewers. During a podcast on EMS Garage with Paramedic Justin Schorr from the San Francisco Fire Department and Mark Glencorse, a Paramedic from the UK, our paths crossed through social media allowing us a way of sharing their story and expanding it to other parts of the world.

Paramedic/ Firefighter Justin Schorr received a wake up call December 17, 2007, when he responded to a second alarm fire in San Francisco. Fifteen Minutes after arriving on the scene, the roof collapsed and he found himself trapped. The next thing he remembers is the trip to the ER, code 3, in the back of an ambulance. As part of his rehab, he began writing about his experiences and sharing it anonymously with people through blogging. Across the Atlantic Ocean Mark Glencorse, a paramedic with the North East Ambulance Service, decided to take a different approach and request permission from his company to blog about his experiences and share it online through social media and blogging. As fate would have it, the two met as they shared and began discussing many of the same encounters in EMS, only in two different areas of the world. The exchange began and, while you can read about EMS in a book, maybe an article in a trade magazine, or maybe you are one of the lucky ones that can fly across the country and visit other providers in a trade show, not until you stand shoulder to shoulder with another paramedic in their system do you understand the unique differences and the common traits that make all EMS providers the same… That is The Chronicles of EMS – The Reality Series.
