MARCH 2011 Update - funding finished

THANK YOU to everyone who funded, it seriously helped me out did the money I raised.
I did not raise enough money as I hoped to dedicate my self to this project full time but I'm doing my best to dedicate any of my free time at this moment when ever possible.

Stay tuned, I'll be launching my proper website in a few weeks when I get a chance to breath. Thank you everyone who voted for my film in the empire contest too, it wouldn't have happened without you and I am eternally grateful and can't type the words 'thank' and 'you' enough.

My Story & My Plan

My name's Lee Hardcastle and I make claymations.
I make claymations that are self funded and cost very little money to make. Based on the success of the pilot episode (Evil Dead, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7N6DR7xD1s), I want to make a series of claymation remakes of cool films we know and love.

The pilot episode was made for a competition which grabbed the attention of Edgar Wright (dir. Shaun of the Dead, Scott Pilgrim vs The World) who even stopped me in person and was all like "Hey, Great job, man". Sam Raimi (dir. Evil Dead, Spiderman) emailed to say how much he liked it and requested the rights so it could be used on a later Evil Dead DVD edition. I'm being 100% honest and not making this up! It got news coverage from Sky News & MTV. You can watch my past claymations at http://www.youtube.com/leehardcastle

For 2011, I want to make a whole series of these claymations and enter as many of them into this years "Done in 60 Seconds" competiton  http://www.empireonline.com/awards2011/donein60... with the goal of being shortlisted again as a way to really launch this series!

UPDATE: Feb 17th: The plan worked but I got shortlisted TWICE!! And so, I've now officially launched the series with a double bill. If you like the videos, please vote! I'd appreciate it so so so very much and it'd help the webseries in ways you can't imagine!

UPDATE: March 1st: Thanks to all your votes, The Exorcist Done in 60 seconds. With Clay. Has gone through to the next round, the international semi-finals which will be judged by the likes of Oscar winner Tom Hooper on the 25th of this month! Again, thank you for voting.

If they cost so little to make, then, what do I need $9000 for?!

When I'm not working on other jobs and focus my full time on this, I can make 2 of these episodes a month. 3 episodes if I lose sleep and work 7 days/week.

It takes time to make these episodes and I really do enjoy making them even if the end result is a tiny 60" claymation. The funds I've raised so far have been used only to buy paints, card, clay, website fees.

But I need to keep myself financially afloat while I work on these episodes, my $9'000 goal is based on this- I'm happy to live on $1500 a month, 1 month gets you 2 episodes.

$9000 keeps me going for 6 months and that get's you 12 if not more episodes... with a total of at least 15 if you're to include the ones that are already online now.

If I raised $18'000 I'd be happy to keep making these episodes all year with a new episode online every 2 weeks.

Even if I do not raise the funds I hoped for, I promise at least 6 episodes and I want to try my very hardest to make at least 10. If you decide to buy the DVD option, I will make sure you get your moneys worth by adding 'behind the scenes' material, alternative versions (I've shot some of these films on 2 different formats! Digital & Super8) and I will also include my past films on there such as 'Chainsaw Maid 2' ect

Why is this funding page in $$$ and not ?

Why, my silly British friend! It does not matter that I am asking for dollars, IndieGoGo/PayPal will convert the currency for you. So if you were to donate $5, that would take about 3 out of your account.

Thank you very much!

Regards

Lee
